Does revving an engine too hard with clutch not fully raised cause any damage to car components?

I have unintentionally revved my instructors car while going up hill and on straight roads but not as much as when going uphill since when going uphill, i always panic because i might hit the car behind me and also when i accidentally released clutch a bit to early at high speeds i noticed the car does not shudder as it did before.
