Low white blood cell count in my African Grey?

I have a 5 month old African Grey who is being hospitalized right now. An x-ray has shown that he has a mass in his lungs, and the doctor thinks it is either a bacterial or fungal infection. He also has a very low WBC. The only way of knowing for sure what it is, is to do an endoscopy, but that is very expensive. From what I have read, if he had Aspergillosis, he should have a high WBC. He also has an inflamed liver and kidneys, which evidence of that was seen in his urates that were a dingy yellow instead of bright white. Any avian vets out there who have seen a situation like this?
