Why are young women from Southern California so dingy, immature and superficial?

I used to live in Calfornia, actually I was born and raised there, but as an adult, I moved away. I speak to my cousins who still live there, and they are the most immature, dingy and superficial human beings. All they talk about is drinking starbucks, but they can't afford cars. They spend their money on the most expensive things, yet they still live with their parents, plus they have kids, and they think that working once a week is hard. Their girlfriends think the same way, and they defend each other with the most ridiculous arguments that only the most ignorant would agree with.
