Can i bleach my down comforter?

The tag on it says not to bleach, but I don't see why not. It's all white. It's a little dingy looking. I'm not concerned about bleach affecting it's appearance really, since I have covers from ikea for it in case it yellows or spots it. I'm kind of new to the whole bleaching thing; I tried it a few months ago and I've become obsessed with the smell and whiteness of my clean bleached clothing. Just wondering if anyone has ever bleached their down comforter, what were the results? Or if I really shouldn't......thanks!
