Can your smart phone give your computer a virus? ?

I just bought an android phone. It can be hooked up to a computer to access the phone's user manuel and I assume I can do other stuff, like transfer pictures and stuff. I have internet on the phone but not on my computer, and my computer doesn't have anti-virus. Can I unintentionally transfer a virus to my computer by hooking my phone up to it?
