Do you believe peoples desinty's are written out for them, and what are my chances?

hi I'm a 22 year old guy. over the past couple years I have been in a lot of trouble with the law, mainly assault and fight related. I have been desperately trying to become a better person since then, but I am constantly worried that one day I may unintentionally do something I will never be able to recover from. I pray to God everyday that I find my way and become a good man. My question is do you believe peoples desinty's are written out for them, and what are my chances to finding peace and happiness?
