I need Flat iron help...PLEASE!!!!!!!!!?

Ok so i have a flat iron with white plates, well they're not so white anymore! I've had it for about a year and a half and from products, and stuff like that, the plates have become dingy looking and have a brownish color to them =(. Is there anyway to clean them, or to get them back to their white color? SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME!!!
